Q: Why hire SWM as my wedding makeup artist?
A: Hiring Stephanie Ward Makeup is important for many reasons:
- We specialize in Bridal. This is our full time job! We love making women feel beautiful and will do everything we can to achieve your perfect look.
- We come to you. Having us on-location makes your day hassle-free!
- We use high-quality products that will make you look perfect in pictures and in person. The makeup will last all day and night.
- We can accommodate large parties.
- We travel to different states.
- You want to feel pampered and won’t have to worry about doing it yourself!
- We are knowledgeable about current beauty and bridal trends.
Q: How long will my makeup last?
A: Whether you decide to do traditional or airbrush makeup, we use only the highest quality of makeup that is designed to last throughout your entire wedding day. Laugh, hug & dance! Although our lip products are long lasting, it is a good idea to be able to touch up your lips between the ceremony-reception, eating and drinking! Stephanie will purchase a lip stick/gloss for you and give it to you on the day of your wedding.
Q: What lines of makeup products do you use?
A: SWM only uses lines of the highest quality. Some favorites are: Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Nars, Laura Mercier, Kevyn Aucoin, Tom Ford, Makeup Forever, Hour Glass, Marc Jacobs, IT cosmetics, Benefit and MAC. Bobbi Brown and Temptu are used for all Airbrush applications.
Q: What happens at the trial run? How long does it take?
A: Trial runs are a great way to get an idea of what style you want for the wedding day. Trials consist of a full consultation, lashes and airbrush makeup (if desired). The appointment will take place in the comfort of your own home. That’s right, Stephanie comes to you! Please have a clean, makeup-free face at your appointment. Moisturizer is okay, as long as there is no SPF. Please also provide a few inspiration photos so that we can get a better idea of the look you want to achieve. Wearing a similar color shirt that matches your wedding dress is always a plus. Trials usually take about 1.5 - 2 hours.
Q: Is a trial run required? What if I choose not to have it?
A: Trial runs are not required but highly recommended. It is not only a way to see your look before hand but helps us understand your skin type so that we are fully prepared for your wedding day. It reduces stress on the wedding day and saves time because your artist will know exactly what to do!
Q: I'm not sure what look I want on my special day. Can you help?
A: Absolutely! We suggest browsing pinterest, magazines, or even our Instagram or website. That gives us a better idea of your personal style. From there, we will ask questions about how you want to look and what you want to focus most on (eyes, lips, skin, etc.). We will then combine our knowledge with your preferences in order to achieve the perfect look for YOU!
Q: Can I use my engagement photos as my trial run?
Yes! Using your trial run makeup for pictures is a great idea because you will be able to see how it photographs.
Q: Do you come to me on wedding day?
A: Yes! Stephanie Ward Makeup is a freelance business; there is no studio location. Travel fees will vary.
Q: Is there a minimum amount of services required in order to book?
A: SWM requires a 4 person minimum for Friday, Saturday and Sunday weddings. Travel fees will vary.
Q: How many people can you accommodate?
A: As many as you'd like!
Q: How long does it take for each person?
A: Each service takes approximately 30-40 min. Please allow 45 min.-1 hour for the bride. We always schedule at least an hour of extra time as well! We are efficient with our time, but will not make you feel rushed. It does not matter who goes first and who goes last, everyone will receive one touch up before leaving.
Q: Is gratuity included in your rates?
A: Gratuity is not included, but greatly appreciated! Feel free to tip your artist during your trial or wedding day.
